Climate scientists have assessed the proposals governments have made for their contributions to the climate summit in Paris in December, and have concluded that even if the most far-reaching proposals are adopted, which they won’t be, and even if  that outcome by some miracle happened and the nations then kept to their promises, which they won’t, we would still fail to keep temperature rise under the crucial two degrees by some margin.  Why are people so complacent about the dreadful fate that is now so likely to fall upon our children?  No it isn’t fate, it’s our failure.  What an unexampled tragedy is about to unfold.
