The Church should sell the Vatican to Branson
The Catholic church could do itself a big favour by getting out of the Vatican. St Peter’s was built on selling salvation – when trade slackened the Church gave it a boost by selling remission of hell fire even for sins you hadn’t yet committed, the horrific comedy of religion takes some beating – and is a monument to the Church’s worldliness and betrayal of Christ. It could sell it to Branson, he’d give trillions, the Church could conduct its business from a high rise in Birmingham and give the money to the poor. Think what Branson could charge people for having breakfast in the Sistine chapel. But I don’t think the men in funny hats will want that.
