The Tremendousness

I can’t say with Wordsworth that I have felt ‘The surface of the universal earth with triumph, and delight, and hope, and fear, work like a sea’  but I do feel a joyful presence in all the lovely natural things all about us. ‘The uncountable laughter of the waves’ wrote Aeschylus, and ‘…not alone, in grandeur and in tumult, but no less in tranquil scenes, that universal power and fitness in the latent qualities and essences of things, by which the mind is moved by feelings of delight…’ wrote Wordsworth himself.  I call it The Tremendousness.
